Isaac Currie

Son of William Currie and a banker with Curries & Co. (q.v.), as well as the East Riding Bank. Executor of his brother-in-law Job Mathew Raikes (q.v.), together with Brice Pearse (q.v.), and father of Isaac George Currie (q.v.)

1. Banker of Cornhill (1760-19 April 1843) and of Bush Hill Edmonton, married Mary Ann (d. 1834), daughter of William Raikes of Valentines Essex (d. 1800, the brother of Thomas Raikes Governor of Bank of England 1797-99). Children included Isaac George Currie and Raikes Currie (1801-1881, was Whig MP for Northampton, 1837-1857). Partner in Curries & Co; several interests in South Australia.
