Biography

Awarded the compensation for twelve enslaved people on Cave Valley settlement in Hanover Jamaica with two others as trustees of Ann Pool Ritherdon (q.v.).

  1. Conceivably but not certainly the Thomas Knocker who was a solicitor in Dover, Kent. A Hugh Horatio Knocker, son of Thomas ('Gentleman') and Mercy Knocker of Newland Street was baptised at St Mary Abbotts Kensington 16/11/1829. Mercy Knocker, the daughter of Sir John Hollams, and widow of Thomas Knocker, both late of Kent, died 8/9/1874 aged 79. However, the will of a Thomas Knocker of Upper Deal Kent was proved 05/08/1830.
