West India merchant, partner with William Crooks and later with his son Richard James Surry Todd (q.v.) in Thomas Todd & Co (q.v.).

  1. Married Elizabeth Rochfort Utten 20/05/1795 at St Mary Newington (when he was described as of St Bridget otherwise Bride).  Burial of Thomas Todd Fenchurch Street and  Bath Street Kensington at All Souls Kensal Green 24/08/1836 aged 73.  Will of Thomas Todd Fenchurch Street proved 14/10/1836.

Summary on Jamaican Family Search PROB 11/1868 26/3/1836, proved 14/10/1836.  Thomas Todd of Fenchurch St. Merchant; £200 p.a. Annuity to wife Elizabeth Rochfort Todd; rest to sons Utten Thomas Todd of Island of Jamaica planter and Richard James Surry Todd of Fenchurch St merchant in equal shares as tenants in common.

West India partnership with William Crooks; business undertaken largely by Thomas and Richard James Surry Todd, and property in Jamaica taken in Thomas Todd's name but 'I hereby declare that all such titles and securities were so taken by me on the partnership account and that one equal moiety thereof belongs to my partner William Crooks.' Land and right to service of apprenticed labourers in Jamaica bequeathed on trust to UTT and RJST 'that they with the concurrence of the said William Crooks..dispose of the same in such a manner as may appear most for the said partnership with a view to the advantageous winding up of the same.'
