Biography

Widow of John Russell Moore (q.v.), and heiress via her mother of Heath Hall, awarded the compensation for the Heath Hall pen in Westmoreland, Jamaica and counterclaimant for dower of the compensation for King's Pen, also in Westmoreland, for which the compensation was awarded to James Grant and Henry H. Moore (both q.v.), the executors and trustees under the will of John (Russell) Moore. Ann Mary Jane Moore was in London in 1824 and in Britain at the time of compensation and the 1841 census, but no further trace of her has yet been found after 1841.

  1. John Moore is shown as next to King's Pen in the Jamaica Alamanac from 1811 to 1829, and as John Moore deceased in the 1831 edition. Heath Hall is not shown until 1833, when it is shown next to Thomas Tate. By 1838, Heath Hall has again disappeared: King's is shown against Ann M. Moore.

  2. Deborah Heath Moore (a minor), a daughter of John Russell Moore and Ann Mary Jane Moore, married Robert Briggs 24/05/1824 at St Luke Middlesex with the consent of John Russell Moore. The witnesses were Wm Vaughan, Petty Vaughan and Ann Mary Jane Moore. On the baptism of the couple's daughter Deborah Ann Briggs at All Saints Poplar 26/02/1825 Robert Briggs was identified as a coal merchant.

  3. In 1841 Ann Moore aged 50 'Ind.', born F[oreign parts], was living at Milton, Gravesend Kent with Susannah Briggs aged 9 (her grand-daughter, baptised Susanna Jane Briggs at West Hackney 22/01/1833).
