Biography

Henry Dawkins III, MP for Boroughbridge (1806-1808 and possibly 1820-1826) and Aldborough (1812-1814). Son of Henry Dawkins II 'of Portman Square and Jamaica and then of Over Norton Oxfordshire and Standlynch Wiltshire' (1728-1814) (q.v.), brother of George Hay Dawkins Pennant (q.v.) and James Colyear Dawkins (q.v.). Married Augusta, daughter of General Sir Henry Clinton and Harriet Carter in 1788. Father of Henry Dawkins (1788-1864), who in turn was MP for Boroughbridge 1824-30.
