Widow of James Fraser, counterclaiming for part of the compensation on Golden Fleece in British Guiana 'annuity under Deed by way of compromise for jointure - £250 per annum.'

  1. Probably but not certainly Mary nee Fraser of Achnagairn, widow of James Fraser of Belladrum jun. James Fraser of Belladrum sen. had died in 1808. No record has yet been found of the death of James Fraser of Belladrum jun., (8th and last of Belladrum). James Fraser was deceased by the time of a notice dated 08/08/1836 in which Golden Fleece was described as 'his'. The James Fraser of Golden Fleece who died in Berbice in September 1838 cannot be the same man as/or the late husband of Mary Fraser, unless the date of death is misreported.
