Biography

Daughter of Rowland Duer of Big Duers, Antigua (d. 1791) and his wife Elizabeth. Bequeathed £50 annuity by her brother Rowland junior (he d. 1795). Her sisters Theodora and Elizabeth were both awarded compensation based on identical annuities but Mary did not make a claim: she was however named as the co-beneficiary of the will of her sister Theodora, made in 1836 but proved only in 1847.

  1. Mary Duer married Charles Cresswell 17/01/1797 at Chichester, Sussex. A possible daughter of theirs, Susan Cresswell, born to Charles Cresswell and his wife Mary, baptised at St Nicholas, Brighton, Sussex, 19/03/1804.
