???? - 1829

Biography

Formerly in Grenada, then absentee slave-owner of Cheshire, owner of Resource estate in Grenada, which was rented out in the period of the Slave Registers.

  1. Will of William Sandbach of Tarvin Cheshire proved 10/04/1829. Under the will, which deals mainly with his property in England, he left the Resource estate on Grenada and the 'negroes, utensils..' on it to Samuel and William Sandbach, sons of his niece Mary Sandbach, the daughter of his brother John. The will of Samuel Sandbach of Tarvin, proved 19/11/1835, deals explicitly with the English property he inherited under the will of William Sandbach but is silent on property in Grenada.

  2. There is a Grade II tombchest for William Sandbach of Burton, formerly of Granada [sic] and five others, in the churchyard of St Andrew, Tarvin, Chester recorded by English Heritage.
