London merchant, partner in G.& A. Young and Sims (q.v., under 'William and Jacob Sims'), which appears to have been mortgagees of Golden Vale in Portland and failed c. 1821. An Adam Young of Blackheath, which might be this man or might be his nephew by succession, was also counterclaimant as trustee of a marriage settlement of 1806 on Blue Mountain in Manchester.
Will of Adam Young of (Vanbrugh Field) Greenwich Kent proved 10/06/1846 (but made 14/10/1839). In the will, Young left his estate, including 'all my interest in a certain plantation situate and being in the Island of Jamaica called Golden Vale and any other estate in the said Island in which I have or may derive or be entitled to any interest from' to his 'dear nephew', Adam Young junior of Lee Road Blackheath Park, the son of his deceased brother David Young. In 1841 Adam Young insurance broker aged was living at Lee Road Blackheath with an unnamed wife and four children. In the same census, Adam Young, age 70, of independent means, was living at Vanburgh [sic] Fields, Greenwich.

Adam Young, Esq., of Vanbrugh Fields, was a subscriber to the Blackheath Auxilliary Society in 1812.
