Sources

  1. Kit Candlin, The Last Caribbean Frontier, 1795-1815 pp. 38, 47; David Alston, Slaves and Highlanders 'Robertson of Kiltearn'. Note most secondary sources give Gilbert Robertson as the father of Gilbert Robertson of Tasmania (1794-1851), but this Gilbert of Tasmania was in fact the son of the elder Gilbert's uncle George Robertson (1756-1799, q.v.).
