Biography

Resident slaveowner in Jamaica. James K. Binns was Overseer at Beans Estate between 1798 and 1810, and was later the owner of Ware Park. His relationship to Edward Binns, the owner of Beans, is not yet clear. He married Sarah Haughton Leigh (q.v.) on 01/09/1801 at Hanover. The couple had three sons, James Kitelee, Edward, and Samuel Leigh Heatley between 1802 and 1809. James K. Binns died between 1809 and 1811.
