Juliana Boyd formerly Patterson (née Brown)

Biography

Juliana Brown was born 1778-79; granddaughter of William Rhodes James II (q.v.) and Mary James, daughter of Mary Rhodes James, sister-in-law of William Rhodes James IV (q.v.), and niece of William Rhodes James III (q.v.). Her first husband was John Pat(t)erson; after his death she married David Boyd, a naval officer, in Hanover in 1812. Juliana Boyd died 23/10/1832 and was buried in Lucea. Her daughter Anna or Annie Patterson was characterised as the White Witch of Rose Hall in the 1929 novel by H.R. Delisser.
