Son of Thomas Forster/Foster of Jamaica. Owner of Elim, Dawkins and Lancaster estates which he bequeathed to his sons Thomas, William and John.
John Foster of St Elizabeth, Esquire. Estate probated in Jamaica in 1731. Slave-ownership at probate: 766 of whom 413 were listed as male and 353 as female. 159 were listed as boys, girls or children. Total value of estate at probate: £46,750.9 Jamaican currency of which £26,724 currency was the value of enslaved people. Estate valuation included £185 currency cash, £12,793.27 currency debts and £263 currency plate.
The will of John Foster was proved in Jamaica in 1731.
