Eldest son of Col. Montague James and his wife Mary nee Haughton. Born 1756. Left one moiety of Green Island estate at age 21 by his grandfather Philip Haughton (d. 1765) and an annuity of £100 from the profits of the estate in the meantime. Died in 1770 before reaching his majority; his moiety of Green Island was passed to his mother (who had been bequeathed the other moiety by Philip Haughton).
