Biography

Son of William Drax (d. 1697). Owner of Drax Hall. Died without issue.

Charles Drax was member of Assembly for St Ann in 1702, St David in 1707, St Mary in 1708, St George in 1710 and St James in 1719.

Charles Drax of St Ann, Esquire. Estate probated in Jamaica in 1723. Slave-ownership at probate: 307 of whom 167 were listed as male and 140 as female. 120 were listed as boys, girls or children. Total value of estate at probate: £8765.43 Jamaican currency of which £6424 currency was the value of enslaved people. Estate valuation included £0 currency cash, £0 currency debts and £0 currency plate.
