James Irving II

Biography

Born in Charleston, South Carolina, in 1749, the eldest son of James Irving the elder and his wife Elizabeth Motte. Married 08/10/1785 to Mary James O'Connor, daughter of Philip O'Connor or Carrickfoyle, Jamaica. Custos of Trelawney and Member of Assembly 1774, 1781, 1790 and 1796. Eight children born 1786-1798. Died in 1798 age 49 and was buried in Kingston.

Inherited Ironshore, Irving Tower and Hartfield estates in St James, Jamaica, with three of his brothers - Robert Aemelius, John Beaufinn and Jacob Aemelius - as tenants in common, entailed upon the heirs male. Robert Aemelius died s.p. in 1794.
