Biography

Natural daughter of Elizabeth Junor, a "free coloured woman", and James Hay, owner of several estates in Grenada, who died at Chelsea in 1819. Bequeathed £10,000 in her father's will.

Living at 127 Sloane Street, Chelsea, in the census of 1851 with brother George G. Hay, sisters Sarah, Hay, Charlotte Hay, Elizabeth Young, nephew Charles S. Young, neices Georgina E. Young and Margaret L. Young, cousin Ann Robertson and 3 female servants. Living at 127 Sloane Street, Chelsea, in the census of 1861 with her brother George G. Hay and sisters Sarah Hay, Charlotte Hay and Elizabeth Young, nephew Charles Stewart Young and nieces Georgiana E. and Margaret L. Young, with 3 female servants. Living at Errol Lodge, South Norwood, in the census of 1871 with her nephew Charles R. Young, neices Georgiana and Margaret, sister Sarah Hay and 2 female servants.

  2. The will of Bridget Georgiana Hay formerly of Erroll Lodge, Selhurst Road, South Norwood in the County of Surrey but late of 59 Elsham-road Kensington in the county of Middlesex spinster who died 2 May 1877 at 59 Elsham-road was proved at the Principal Registry by Charles Stewart Young of 59 Elsham-road Esquire the nephew the surviving executor. Effects under £200.
