Attorney and slave-owner in Jamaica, often appearing as T.P. Rogers or Thomas P. Rogers, as he does in the Jamaica Almanac in 1851 and 1857 as Lt-Col in the militia. Not definitively traced further, despite his distinctive name. Suggestions on genealogical sites that he was the son of Samuel Rogers of Bristol vinegar maker (whose will - which refers to a son Thomas - was proved in 1817) have not been confirmed by LBS.
