Biography

Given as 'Dr Jephson', but Silvester or Sylvester Jepson appears as a surgeon in the St George militia 1790-1802. He was either the father or husband of Henrietta Gray formerly Phillips (q.v.). A younger Sylvester Jepson died aged 18 in 1812 and has an entry in Monumental inscriptions recording a memorial to him at Annotto Bay, in close proximity to a memorial to Thomas Phillips, 'late harbour master of this bay', who died in 1822 aged 47.
