John Humpleby [sen.]

Biography

Probably born in England. (Date of birth estimated.) Married Sarah Ann, daughter of James and Mary Bascom of Barbados. This was her second marriage: she had married Thomas Harris of Barbados at St Thomas Church, 28 February 1790. Humpleby married Sarah Bascom, St Michael church, Barbados, 30 May 1805.

Humpleby the owner of the Perry (later Springfield) plantation until 22 April 1803 when it was sold to David and George Hall. (q.v.)
