Biography

Owner of 125 enslaved people in St Ann, Jamaica, in 1792, tentatively linked to Knapdale estate, which belonged to heirs of Duncan Campbell deceased in 1799-1803. Not otherwise identified beyond the death notice below.

  1. Lately, at Aux Cayes, St Domingo, on his return from America, [Death of] Duncan Campbell esq., of Knapdale in the Island of Jamaica.

  2. An engraved stone from Knapdale estate dated 01/04/1774 contains the Campbell coat of arms and the initials D.C.
