1702 - 1748
Almost certainly the man referred to as the Honourable Isaac Gale deceased in the 1752-1753 registrations of Trinity, Nonsuch and Unity estates in St Mary (which had belonged to the father of Dorothy Orgill, wife of Isaac Gale 1702-1750) in St Mary Jamaica, and simply as Isaac Gale deceased for the Luana and Golden Grove estate in St Elizabeth. Son of Isaac Gale of Cashew and Luana (b. c. 1671); brother of Jonathan Gale merchant of London; and father of John Gale [d. 1758], Jane Isabelle or Isabella Gale, Catherine Gale and Dorothy Foster nee Gale, the wife of William Foster of the Bogue estate.
Isaac Gale of St Elizabeth, Esquire. Estate probated in Jamaica in 1750. Slave-ownership at probate: 735 of whom 389 were listed as male and 346 as female. 186 were listed as boys, girls or children. Total value of estate at probate: £88225.66 Jamaican currency of which £22962 currency was the value of enslaved people. Estate valuation included £884.86 currency cash, £44177.37 currency debts and £375.36 currency plate.
Will of Isaac Gale of St Elizabeth proved 01/08/1750. He left £3000 to each of his two unmarried daughters Catherine and Jane Isabella Gale, and his property to his son John, with remainder to his three daughters, Jane Isabelle and Catherine Gale and Dorothy Foster. The estates of Isaac Gale of St Elizabeth appear to have passed to John Gale and after John's death in 1758 to John Fisher (the husband of Jane Isabelle Gale) in the case of Luana and Golden Grove, and to have been sold to Nathaniel and/or Zachary Bayly (and then to Bryan Edwards) in the case of Trinity, Nonsuch and Unity Hall.
The will of Isaac Gale proved in Jamaica in 1748.

Described as 'in the possession of' the heirs of the late Isaac Gale' and 'belonging to the heirs of the late Dr Samuel Rushton' in 1752-1753, then as the 'heirs of Isaac Gale' 1754-1756 and again 1760-1763. |

A single reference in 1762, possibly misleading, to the estate belonging to Isaac Gale deceased. Otherwise, the transmission of the estate appears to have been within the Swymmer family. |
