Attorney in 1769 and mortgagee-in-possession 1770 of Charlottenburg in St Mary. Possibly the John Archer who was Island Secretary in 1768.

John Archer of St Catherine, Esquire. Estate probated in Jamaica in 1772. Slave-ownership at probate: 117 of whom 66 were listed as male and 51 as female. 16 were listed as boys, girls or children. Total value of estate at probate: £15509.4 Jamaican currency of which £6829.5 currency was the value of enslaved people. Estate valuation included £44.56 currency cash, £4057.05 currency debts and £138.16 currency plate.
