London merchant, partner with his son Benjamin Smith and father of Rev. Richard Smith the elder (who predeceased him) and grandfather of Rev. Richard Smith and Mary Gibbes Allen nee Smith (all of whom q.v.).

  1. Will of Richard Smith of Islington proved 26/10/1776. This long will has yet to be analysed by LBS but includes the bequest of several named enslaved people to his grandchildren and to his son Benjamin.
