Samuel Delap of Letterkenny

Biography

Brother and co-heir (for life) of Francis Delap (q.v.), whom he survived by only a few years.

  1. Described as of Ramelton, Co. Donegal in 1765, 1766, 1770 and 1776. Aged about 46 in 1770.

  2. Married Ann, daughter of Rev Seth Drummond, Presbyterian Minister at Ramelton, 1696-1740. Died at Whitehall, Co. Antrim, December 1780.

  3. His widow died in London in March 1808, leaving a will dated August 1807 (when she was of Queen Anne Street, Westminster) and proved in London 05/04/1808.

  4. Said to have been Treasurer of Co. Donegal. His sister Margaret was married to Rev Robert Caldwell of Tullybrook, Dissenting Minister at Ballyshannon (died 1790, aged 56).
