Biography

Apparently resident slave-owner in Jamaica, dead by 1775.

  1. SINCLAIR, Hon. ARCH M.A. St. Catherine 1761, 1765. M[ember] C[ouncil] 1766.

  2. Archibald Sinclair contributed £50 to the University of Pennsylvania following Dr John Morgan's fundraising tour of the West Indies in 1772-1773.

  3. Trevor Burnard shows Archibald Sinclair as leaving Total Physical Wealth of £11,614 sterling (including enslaved people; excluding realty and financial assets and liabilities) in 1774, making him the tenth largest Jamaican wealth-holder with an inventory taken in that year.
