Son and heir of Hon. Thomas Bernard (q.v.).

  1. Assumed to be the William Bernard who was listed in the Jamaican Quit Rent books for 1754 as the owner of 666 acres of land in Clarendon and 4178 acres of land in St Dorothy, total 4844 acres.

  2. Will of William Henry Bernard of [Argyle Street] St James Westminster proved 28/05/1781. In the will he instructed his trustees (his nephew John Campbell II [1750-1826, MP for Ayr Burghs 1794-1807] and Humphrey Morice) to sell his estate at Stonyland in Somerset to raise £3000 [raised in a codicil to £5000] for his daughter Jane commonly called Jane Maine or Mains, with the residue of his estate going to his nephews John Campbell and William Henry Campbell.
