Slave-owner in Surinam, reportedly dying there in 1793 on Kleinhoop. The estate passed to his niece Johanna, and from her to her husband the Rev. Richard Austin (q.v). He was known as 'Paul Wentworth of London' in the 1770s.

Born into slavery in Carriacou, Grenada, Malvina Wells became a lady's maid in Edinburgh and a trusted family friend to her employers.

A cover note outlining the contents of the document.
