Walter Scott

8th Nov 1776 - 1833

Biography

Owner of Reading and Plumb pens in St James, Jamaica. Born 08/11/1776, son of Adam Scott and his wife Sarah. Baptised in St James the following year. Buried 15/08/1833 in Vere age 56.

Reading and Plumb pens appear to have been inherited by his nephews. Milborough Scott, born 1772, married George Fletcher Coward in 1800. By 1834, a Walter Scott Coward was co-owner of Reading and Plumb - probably Milborough's son, although no baptism record has been found for him. The other co-owner was Rodolphus Walter Buchanan, son of Walter's other sister Ann (who was born the year after Milbrough and who married Rodoplus Buchanan in St James in 1798.
