Isaac Feurtado

Owner of Golden Spring in St Andrew, Jamaica, in 1753.

Isaac Feurtado was listed in the Jamaican Quit Rent books for 1754 as the owner of 912 acres of land in St Andrew and 900 acres of land in St James, total 1812 acres.

Tentatively identified as Isaac Feurtado of Kingston, merchant. Estate probated in Jamaica in 1778. Slave-ownership at probate: 257 of whom 127 were listed as male and 130 as female. 48 were listed as boys, girls or children. Total value of estate at probate: £25431.92 Jamaican currency of which £12903 currency was the value of enslaved people. Estate valuation included £24.38 currency cash, £4880.56 currency debts and £595.38 currency plate.
