Rev. Thomas Rees

???? - 1828

Biography

Anglican clergyman, slave-owner in Jamaica dying in England c. 1828. He was shown as the owner of Pimento Hill in St Andrew in 1810-1811, but appears to have had other 'slave-property' when he made his will in 1825.

  1. Will of Rev. Thomas Rees Doctor of Divinity [late of City of Bath] of Bristol [made in 1825 with codicils of the same year] proved 13/08/1828. In the will he identified his godson John Campbell as the son of Rev. Alexander Campbell of St Andrew and left his property, including any real estate 'slaves' and chattel he might possess in Jamaica, in trust to be sold, with his estates in England and Wales passing to his sister Margaret Evans for life, and then the combined property passing to his niece Ann Rees Brock.
