Biography

  1. John Hudson Guy, son of Nathaniel Guy and Dorothy, was baptised in St Andrew, Jamaica, 20/11/1678. He married Hannah Tamlinson in St James, London, 21/06/1697.

  2. John Hudson Guy of St Andrew, gentleman. Estate probated in Jamaica in 1703. Slave-ownership at probate: 66 of whom 34 were listed as male and 32 as female. 9 were listed as boys, girls or children. Total value of estate at probate: £2105.38 Jamaican currency of which £1481 currency was the value of enslaved people. Estate valuation included £0 currency cash, £0 currency debts and £11.95 currency plate.

Note there was another John Hudson Guy whose estate was probated in Jamaica in 1711; he was of St Catherine.
