Claimant or beneficiary

Biography

Edward Roger Pratt senior, of Ryston Hall, Norfolk. Probably the Edward Roger Pratt who was trustee of William Woodley and therefore awardee for compensation for the ownership of enslaved people on Greenland estate in St Kitts in 1835, though this is conceivably his son Edward Roger Pratt junior (see separate entry for him).

  1. Edward Roger Pratt, son of Edward and Blanch Pratt, baptised 14/11/1756 in Gressenhall, Norfolk. Edward Roger Pratt of Ryston, buried in Ryston, 12/03/1838 aged 82 years.

  2. The will of Edward Roger Pratt of Ryston, Norfolk, was proved in London 02/05/1838. This is a very long will and hasn't been fully investigated by LBS but includes a rehearsal of his marriage settlement with Pleasance, daughter of Samuel Brown of Kings Lynn, and legacies from his grandfather Roger Pratt and Pleasance's mother.
