Biography

'Merchant and planter' of St Kitts, in London when he made his will 07/10/1816, and father of 'mustee' children including Ralph Brush Cleghorn, later a stipendiary magistrate on St Kitts.

  1. Will of Robert Cleghorn 'merchant and planter' of Stepney Middlesex proved 13/10/1824. He left property at Dagenham and Barking Side in trust for his three natural 'mustee' sons Ralph Brush Cleghorn, Thomas Pace Cleghorn and Matthew Cole Leghorn 'begotten by me on the body of Margaret Steel, a free mulatto woman' of St Kitts. His will is silent on property in St Kitts.
