Biography

Co-residuary heir with her siblings of their brother George Crafts of Rio Demerary Essequibo (q.v.). She sold her interest in the Retrieve plantation to her brother-in-law Butler Corfe (q.v.).

  1. Will of Martha Gater or [sic] born Crafts widow of Middlesex [made 1817] proved 26/01/1819. She left £1000 each to her son Thomas Smith by her first husband John Smith and her daughters Elizabeth Lydia Sparks and Sarah Rose by her second husband James Gater.
