Slave-owner in Mauritius, apparently resident and dying there in 1868. Hugh Hunter (q.v.) received the compensation for 198 people under a deed from J.E. Arbuthnot in Mauritius No. 1236. Son of Sir William Arbuthnot (q.v.).
