Biography

Widow of Henry Brooke of Henbury Castle, Gloucestershire (who died c. 1830).

  1. Henry Brooke was a partner in the Bristol Spanish wool-importer Henry Francis Brooke and Co., and probably the partner (and possibly brother) of Charles Brooke (q.v.) in the London merchant Brooke Webb (q.v.) and the West India merchant Brooke Struth (q.v.), both of Sambrook Court. Mary Ann Brooke appears to have had notable agency, as the executrix of her husband, and as the administratrix of John Robley (q.v.)

  2. In 1851 Mary Ann Brooke annuitant aged 76 born London was living at West Bagborough Somerset with her daughter Matilda E. Clarke and grandchildren. Mary Ann Brooke widow of Henry Brooke of Henbury died in 1854 at Farleigh Castle Somersetshire in her 80th year. Will of Mary Ann Brooke of West Bagborough Somersetshire proved 03/04/1854.
