Biography

Son of Thomas Waith (c.1754- ) and Sarah Wilkinson (married, 21 February 1781).

Married Elizabeth Rose, Christ Church, Barbados, 17 May 1808. The children were: Thomas; James Rose; Sarah Murrell; Robert Doughty; Sampson Wood; Elizabeth Blagrove; Sarah Murrell; Ellen Frances.

Elizabeth Blagrove Waith married her second cousin Thomas Shepherd Waith (17 September 1816-2 December 1880) who died on the Richmond Hill plantation, Leguan, British Guiana.

Sampson Wood Waith was one of the 15 Commissioners of Police appointed by the Barbados Assembly in 1834; and he was also a representative of Christ Church in the House of Assembly.
