Marriage of William Henry Ricketts Bayley of St John's College Cambridge and Malvern Estate in the Island of Barbados, to Mary, eldest dau. of John Lyall Esq. Bedford Sq., Brighton Sussex.
Living at the Parsonage, Nailsea, Somerset in the census of 1861, age 59 born Jamaica with his wife Mary Bayley age 53, daughter Mary Lyall Bayley age 21, a visitor Sarah Ann Bayley widow age 76 and a Jamaican-born servant, Elizabeth Mary Bayley, unmarried age 41, plus 2 other female servants. Living at 2 Princes Buildings, Weston-Super-Mare in the census of 1871 with his wife Mary and Hester Protheroe age 60, a visitor born in Bristol.
Rev. William Henry Ricketts Bayley, late of Nailsea, who died 10/04/1872, proved 06/07/1872 by relict Mary of 1 Dunton Villas Kingston-on-Thames and Francis Souper Bayley of Churchill Somerset (and one other non-family executor), effects under £600.
The Malvern estate in Barbados appears to have come to William Henry Ricketts Bayley under the will of Sir Francis Souper Bayley (1789-1824), whose will was proved 17/05/1825 and who died in Penang, where he was recorder, in 1824.
