Biography

Spinster of Greenock, Scotland, unsuccessful counterclaimant for enslaved persons on Robin's Nest estate in Jamaica, as legatee and devisee of Alexander Campbell (q.v.).

  1. Born c. 1782, daughter of Thomas Crawford (excise officer, died 26/04/1813 in Greenock) and May/Marjory Crawford née Campbell (died 15/12/1823 in Mansionhouse, Greenock). A very likely match for her birth: "Thos Crawford and May Campbell in Callander had a daur born 27th & baptized 30th May [1784] called May." Her sister was Arrabella Crawford and her brother was Agnew Crawford (both q.v., both also baptised in Callander). Died at Mansion House, Greenock, 25/10/1856, age 74.
