T71/1213: replication of Sarah Brissett Lawrence (no date and no address), makes it clear that she is an absentee, referring to documents transmitted to her from Jamaica. The enslaved persons she owned were rented out to Eardley estate, which was subject to a mortgage of the counterclaimant P.J. Miles. F.B. Zinke acted as her attorney.

Jamaican-born widow of a prominent slave-owner; resident in Britain following the death of her husband in 1818. Accused - and acquitted - of the cruel treatment of some enslaved people whom she brought to Britain with her.

A cover note outlining the contents of the document.
