T71/1602: letter dated 19/03/1834 from R.D. Clunie, late of Island of Jamaica now resident in London, arguing for higher compensation (£200) for enslaved tradesmen: see also St Andrews claim no. 480. He has 'sundry valuable coppersmith and plumber negroes' trained at a cost of £200 and more; states that head tradesmen get only 4 years apprenticeship.
