T71/871: claim from Peter Hogg, as the executor of John Hogg. Counterclaim from a group of legatees under a will dated 18/01/1820 for £2650 (the group were natural children by housekeeper Margaret Campbell, see T71/1608 for a letter from Henry Pinckard with an extract of the will, 09/07/1836). The Assistant Commissioners concluded that the compensation money appears due to the counterclaimants to the extent of £2650. The counterclaim was then withdrawn.

Member of the Baillie of Dochfour family who had numerous mercantile connections in the West Indies. The compensation for Baillie's Bacolet in Grenada was awarded to the trustees of her marriage settlement. Grand-daughter of Colin Roy Campbell of Glenmure. Apparently a victim of the quack doctor John St John Lang of Harley Street in 1830.

A cover note outlining the contents of the document.
