T71/899: claim by Joseph Mayers, of St Peter, receiver in Chancery of the estate of the property of Benj. Storey, at present in St Vincent. Counterclaim from Harriett Went (a widow), of St Lucy, as assignee of judgement; Anne Went, of the city of Bath (Somerset), by Rev. James King Went, of the Parish of St George, assignee of a judgement and execution dated 31/05/1808  and a mortgage dated 01/06 1808; and from Bright & Gibbs, of Bristol.

Kathleen Mary Butler, The Economics of Emancipation: Jamaica and Barbados 1823-1843 (Chapel Hill and London, University of North Carolina Press, 1995) p. 63: the author notes that, in 1832, Gibbes and Bright brought a chancery suit versus Benjamin Storey, of Barbados, to recover £5,365 in judgements and mortgages versus the Richmond Hill estate. The estate was appraised at £5,709, and advertised for sale in December 1832. In 1835, the estate was reappraised and sold to Joseph Bagley for £5,892.
