T71/1593 p. 12: letter to Edward Jones Esq., 6 Gt. St. Helens, London, re. extending counterclaim over other claims by D. Lamont, 'of the existence of which you were not previously aware'; however, the Commission had no record of claims on Bothwell, Somerset, Mount and Cottage estates.
T71/1608: letter from Grinwell & Hughes, Worcester, re. counterclaim of Mrs Elizabeth Braham [Beahan?], of this City, for enslaved persons let to Mr David Lamont. Mrs Braham's [Beahan's] title is derived through her late son John Reynolds Caplan [in fact Cassup].
