Parliamentary Papers p. 304.
T71/1594 p. 194: letter, dated 15/05/1838, from Edward Morton, of 15 Eaton Street, Belgrave Sq., stating that it is too late to counterclaim on this claim. Edward Morton wrote concerning the late Captain Morton and his late wife Mary Thompson of Truro Pen. Thompson was, as executrix of her husband, holding in trust enslaved persons belonging to Mrs Chas Morton her grand-daughter, and the executor of Mary Thompson denied receiving the money. Not clear why William Vaughan was awarded the compensation.
Jamaica Almanac (1833): 21 enslaved persons registered to Mary Thompson on Truro estate.
