Higman, Plantation Jamaica 1750-1850: capital and control in a colonial economy (Mona, Jamaica, University of West Indies Press, 2005) p. 154: Alexander Seton (1779-1856), son of James Wedderburn [1730-1807], doctor in Westmoreland, m Isabella Blackburn, great grand niece and heir of last Lord Colvile of Ochiltree [Ayrshire, Scotland], changed name to Wedderburn-Colvile, left £300,000 curency. Seton assumed the name of Colvile in 1814; sugar broker and Hudsons Bay Co [and British Guiana].
