T71/874: Thomas Hartley and Milham Hartley counterclaimed as mortgagees and as creditors under a charge for payment of debts in the will and codicil of Robert Minto for £12136 19s 10d. The original claim was by Jarvis Minto.
T71/1608: letter, dated 03/10/1835, from T. & M. Hartley, of Whitehaven (Cumbria), stating: the Court of Chancery has told the Hartleys that Jarvis Minto has not admitted these claims (Trelawny claim nos. 168, 170 & 543 and St James claim no. 655), but 'you have his acct current with us shewing the balance due Thos & M. Hartley in 1834, and his letter acknowledging it, dated 26/5/1835'. 'Mrs Minto his mother now in London will also assert that it is his wish that our claim should be paid'.
