T71/873: claim from George Gordon, of St James, as receiver in cause of 'Gray v Hinde et al'.  [TNA C 13/252/13 Description: [W1818 G13]. Gray v Hinde. Bill and two answers. Plaintiffs: Charles Gordon Gray and others. Defendants: Thomas Gudgeon, Thomas Leyland, Peter Whitfield Branker, John Tobin, Thomas Hinde, Samuel Hinde, George Kinghorn (abroad) and Robert Sutherland (abroad).]

 

T71/1592 p. 192 and p. 202: letters, dated 11/08/1835 and 14/08/1835, to Wm. Mercer, 24 Addington Place, Ramsgate, re. St James claim nos. 166 & 172 in Chancery (presumably in Jamaica). Ibid p. 350: letter, dated 19/11/1835, stating: 'I am directed to acquaint you that it is impossible from the nature of the busines of the office to keep up a correspondence with Parties as to their individual claims'. Has sent a copy of the rules 'as you state that you are unacquainted with the Rules and  Orders of the Commission'.

 

Wm. Mercer received compensation under St James claim no. 172.
