T71/874: claim by James McLachlan, as receiver. Counterclaim from Rev. George Capper, as the executor of Mary Reid, 'spinster creditor by bond and judgement and under an indenture of 9th August 1823 charging the debt on this estate'. Counterclaim from Rev. Henry Denny Berners and Rev. Geo Capper & Ann (his wife), as 'entitled to the interest for their lives as stated of £10,000 sterling at 5 per cent - for arrears. £2700 to Mrs Capper'. Counterclaim from Mary Reid, a spinster, as an annuitant of £500 under the will of George Reid. No note of the award being paid to court.
T71/1608: letter, dated 29/01/(1835), from Mrs Reid (widow of the late Geo. Reid), of St Margaret Terrace, Rochester, Kent, asking what steps she should take to claim compensation for slaves left to her by Mrs Mary Reid (aunt, to her husband), who received £130 a year from him for the hire of the above slaves which same, Mrs Reid, as his representative received from Bunker Hill estate. 'If Mrs Reid is not acting according to the forms, in applying herself, she begs to be informed , who she is to employ'.
